Examples:

Present tense

Zahn matun byasa sinega ayon?.

Gloss: 2.GEN sibling able dance good?

Translation: "Can your brother dance well?"

Past tense

Veru byasadem char veruk nau romrab tis.

Gloss: 1PL able-PST see 1PL.ACC self water-LOC top.

Translation: "We could see ourselves in the water."

Future tense

Zi byasamai dinde.

Gloss: 2 be_able-FUT safe.

Translation: "You'll be able to (be) safe."

Present imperfect

Shun byasali boosir tomba shuk zashir..

Gloss: 3.GEN able-IPF fight help 3.ACC live.

Translation: "His ability to fight helps him live."

Notes: I don't think "was/ will be abling" makes much grammatical sense in Lasat, so instead I've decided to demonstrate how the Present Imperfective can turn a verb into a noun. In this case, "able" becomes "ability".

Present imperative

Zi byasafadh orra geka nid!

Gloss: 2 can-IMP NEG do here!

Translation: "You can't do this!"

Past imperative

Shu byasafadhem gedha odistkad.

Gloss: 3 able-PST-IMP use knife-ACC.

Translation: "She must have been able to use (a) knife."

Future imperative

Byasafadhi tomba zik nau gotik..

Gloss: ABle-IMP.FUT help 2.ACC self first.

Translation: "(You must) be able to help yourself first."
